We had another fun day. We walked around a small mountain town and looked in all the shops, had lunch, and soaked in the scenery. For having to be out-of-state for days on end, we sure got the best end of the deal. There is so much to do and the scenery is breathtaking...I've never been in a more beautiful place.I tried out my sling for the first time and LOVED it. It feels so good to have baby Ty close to my heart. He slept the whole time!
Baby Ty didn't know the adventure he signed up for, picking us as parents! We'll have you know we stopped short of climbing the cave walls and kept our feet on the ground...for the most part.We are seriously having so much fun!!
Tyrus is officially our son. Nothing has ever felt more wonderful. We've been trying to get together with Rebekah as much as possible, while we're here. I hope it's helping ease the pain. She sent me a sweet note on Father's Day that I've re-read at least 10 times. It speaks so much of her heart...I want to share a piece of it with you:
I had such a great time with you, today. I just love you both so much. I also wanted to tell you that I am so glad you are Ty's parents. You are wonderful with him. I love the way you look at him, and how you kiss him and how protective you both are over him. You really are naturals. Thank you for loving my boy. I love you for it.
God is so good. Never in my best dreams could I ever have put this all together. Tonight...my heart overflows with gratitude.
So glad to hear that all has come together so perfectly for all of you. You are a beautiful little family and happy as can be. I wish that for you, forever.
ReplyDeleteOut of curiosity, what type of sling do you have? I'm currently hunting for one and haven't found one I like yet.
Dude! how'd you manage $35 a night? We need some of that action!
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you're having such a great time and that the finalization compete. Patricia gave us a similar letter the day we took Josiah home and it just meant the world to us. You guys are truly blessed to have Rebekah in your lives, and it will mean to much to Ty when he's older that SHE chose YOU!
Thats good that you get the time to explore the countryside where your son was born so you can tell him about your adventures. Hopefully you can go home soon to begin your new life at home. I hope your son will still be able to sleep in that lovely cradle. My son slept in a cradle in his room for 6 weeks then decided that it was too small for him.
ReplyDeleteYou two do look like naturals :) I'm so glad that everything is going wonderfully.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you! And, WOW - Colorado is FAST movin! YAY! Y'all are such a sweet family and YOU are the happiest mama I have ever seen!
ReplyDeleteWhen do you go home to start your new life at home?
ReplyDeleteAwwwwww! What a sweet little cottage! I love that you're having so much adventure and outings and even more that you're sharing them with us. Love the sling! It looks like my Peanut Shell?!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you guys. I can't wait for you to get him home and see him in that cute bedroom. Have a fun trip home.

You guys look so happy. It's wonderful to see how your new family is growing together. This is such a wonderful time, and I wish you all the best. And my heart goes out to Rebekah. While this must be very difficult for her, I am confident she is happy with her decision.
ReplyDeleteYou guys look so great!!!
ReplyDeleteMy heart needs this story! I lived in CO for 3 years am loving your pictures, reminds me I need to get back out there. Your cottage reminds me of a place we use to stay at in Rocky Mnt. National Park. I never got tired of the beauty out there.
ReplyDeleteLove the sling! Baby wearing is the best, I think it's especially important when you've adopted. :)
ReplyDeleteI highly recommend the Baby Hawk or Beco Butterfly if you are looking!
i am so thrilled to the core to hear that it is official, as if there was ever a doubt, GOD has done this and IT IS marvelous in all of our eyes.

ahhh, I'm so glad you showed the cottage, how adorable! I am hoping now for a photo montage of the little man in all his cute outfits!
ReplyDeleteYou two are just way too cute! Love the cottage! I want one of those slings too!
ReplyDeleteBTW, what are you using for Ty to sleep in? A pack and play? Would love to see it because we are about to buy one for us, to use for the first few weeks like you are using. I posted a blog with a pic of the one I like, maybe you can leave a comment with what yours looks like so I can look it up on the internet.
I remember looking at Charlie about a week after he was born, when the dust was beginning to settle a little, and just sobbing with the overwhelming gratitude I felt for his precious life. The funny thing was, the tears didn't sting my eyes at all. They were tears of pure thankfulness and love for my son's precious life.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you now have a precious son too. There is nothing more amazing in life than the love a mother feels for her child. It has surprised, overwhelmed, and delighted me almost continuously!
I love the pictures, and the wonderful adventure you are having with Baby Ty. This will be such a special and important part of his story!
Hugs,
Melba
I am so happy for you and I am happy the little horse was given to Ty. That entry made me cry! -K
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute cottage! That price is a steal, too!!! LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteHow long do you have to stay there again? I can't remember. Anyway, CONGRATULATIONS on being officially little Ty's parents!!!
It sounds like a perfect beginning to the adventure of motherhood. We love you guys and can't wait to see Ty. Cristan & Mike

ReplyDeleteMr. Moo is so sweet. He sends his love, I'm sure.
Wow! So beautiful...how great for you that you get to do some exploring as well. Looks like the sling already came in handy ;)
ReplyDeleteHe seems sooo tiny in that sling! I love that the 3 of you go out and do things...some new parents stay home for the first year for whatever reason...life is beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the paparwork...it just gives it that extra little tuck at the heart...to see his name on paper...to see next to 'father' it says Ben... and next to mother Rebekah.
amazing...
and Rebekah's note to you...tears*...with all the happiness, the sadness..but I believe that it is to bring equilibrium in life...and also to keep us humble...when you start living with your little baby you feel sooo grateful and happy....sometimes 'forgetting' that he did not come from you....:0) which is so refreshing..reminding you just how happy you are about the tiredness, the sleepness nights, the yummy nappies...
every mommy holding that little baby to their heart, always carry his/her birthmom just as close to her heart as her baby...always...heart-to-heart...
happy life! xx
That's such a nice note from Rebekah. I hope that she is doing okay.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to hear that you, Ben,and Ty are doing so well. I love the pictures you shared - very nice!
