Please Pray

Please pray for me, friends.

Pray that my anxious heart will still and that my baby boy will come home with us on Tuesday.  The adoption is not in question, but the homecoming date is.

Our caseworker is getting some mixed information and chalks it up to too many caseworkers being involved on this case (it's complicated). She is driving out Little Boy's file to us on Sunday afternoon so that we can read through it carefully and present our "intent to adopt" on Monday afternoon.

Her advice to me was to come to the meeting on Monday prepared to advocate for our son.

I don't know the weight behind that statement, but I will be prepared.

Things have gotten mighty complicated...

  1. Oh my. I can only begin to imagine how this must be nerve wracking. I always thought they transtions the children slowly. Praying he comes home as planned and its a smooth process for the new little boy.

  2. Rebekah,

I've been following your blog for a while now, you have such an amazing story with sweet Tyrus. I feel like we have had a similar journey to become moms. We are in the foster care system out in CO, we are foster parents to the most precious little 6 month old who was born addicted to lots and lots of drugs. God's hand has defiantly been over this journey with her, she is my cousins baby, we had 10 days from when we found out about her to her being in our arms. We are hoping to adopt her, we have 6 more months till the case needs to be closed. I defiantly know the ups and downs and confusion of the "system" it seems like things sometimes change hourly, every time we speak with our case worker there is something new. I'll be praying for your family as you await the arrival of little boy. may the Lord bless you! Excited to read more about this journey!!

  6. Keeping your family in my thoughts. I am surprised that they arent having you do a transition period for him? I am im Canada, so they may do things different here, but i was under the impression that the transition period happens everywhere?
