Frustrated.

Our big meeting with all the case workers today, was canceled, this morning. Our case worker had a family obligation that she had to attend to. I completely understand, but it's still frustrating. I have not heard whether or not we will be able to reschedule for tomorrow. Until we have that meeting, Little Boy's homecoming is uncertain.

I am frustrated, but not discouraged.

He WILL come home and now that he has a growling mama advocating for him, he will not slip through the cracks again.

  1. Welcome to foster adoption and dealing with caseworkers! Our son's homecoming didn't happen for 5 weeks.

  3. Congratulations! Two boys will be so fun! My twin boys are 6 and are best buddies. When our 17 year old was 6 we had a foster daughter that was her age and after a rough few months, they were best friends.

Right now we are on hold for accepting foster placements. The heartaches are still with me for every child I have taken care of. Oh, but the rewards are so great. I find it so easy to love the children. But the system stinks! I learned over the years to never believe anything until it happens.

I hope Little Boy gets to join your family real soon and that the transition will be easy for everyone. In the meantime, just enjoy being a mom to one.

Do you have contact info for his sister/siblings? If not, try and get it now or you probably won't be able to.

  4. I just found your blog and I'm reading through it but I wanted to tell you I'm praying for you. We fought a nightmare domestic adoption for over a year before our girls came home. We've been in our international adoption for over two years, have spent several months in Africa with our son, and we're still waiting and praying for our miracle. But I know God will be faithful to us and bring our family back together and He will bring your little boy home.
