I can't get enough of this little boy!

Ben and I were given a fun opportunity, this week, when our Michigan agency called and asked if we'd share our story at the upcoming, September, Waiting Families Class. I am so excited to be able to go back and encourage other waiting families.

I have not forgotten the hopelessness of the wait. The agonizing days. The empty arms. I cry often, just remembering. Tyrus is such a gift...I hope his sweet face will be a beacon of hope for other adopting couples.

I know I have many AAI readers. If you're in the Farmington Hills area, come out and meet us. We'd love to share Ty with you!! You can email me for specific information.

  2. Rebekah... There is soooo much hopelessness in the wait. I hope that it all fades, in time. Can't see that it can or will. Have fun sharing! As always, Ty is precious!

  5. That's awesome! I hope we will be able to do that someday too, I really want to be an example of how things really CAN work out, even though sometimes it can seem really hopeless!

  9. It's so wonderful that you want to share your story to encourage others who are going through the same trials. I felt so very alone when we went through the wait for our son...of course that was a couple of years before the blogging phenomenon :-)

And for those who posted here who are feeling hopeless, may I just offer that I will keep you in my prayers. I can only speak for myself, but the pain ABSOLUTELY has faded away. In fact, it has disappeared completely. I sincerely hope that someday you can say the same.

  17. That's so great that they asked you to speak at the meeting. Those are the meetings at AAI that I like the best - when we got to listen to the stories of adoptive families and birthparents. Maybe we'll see you there!

  19. Congrats on the opportunity at AAI. You'll be a great inspiration to the couples waiting there. That was the agency we worked with (briefly) when we were going for China. Don't know why I didn't stick with them for domestic. Kind of regretting that now :/

... but anyway, you guys have a great story to tell!
