Ty's 4th Month

Every month gets better. My heart explodes with love for this kid and just thinking about him makes me cry. I knew life was going to be good this side of infertility (it had to be), but I didn't know it would be this good.

This was a big month of firsts.

First grab for his toy - first pull on mommy's hair -first drool drenched shirt - first road trip to Indy and first time in the big city - first miserable up-all-night(s) cold - first explosion diaper (sorry Meeg) - first signs of balding - first freezing temps - first taste of cereal - first faceplant caught on camera.

Our big guy is actually a little peanut compared to his similar aged buddies, weighing in at 14.5 pounds and 24.5 inches. He melts my heart and has a shoe collection comparable to that of any hollywood diva.

It seems that every month is my favorite photo shoot...but this really is my favorite. I'm usually snapping shots, but this month Ben got behind the lens. A beautiful boy on a beautiful fall day.

Sometimes it takes the photographer some time to find just the right spot. Good thing she has a camera crew.

Ty didn't quite understand that Mommy wanted him to look at the pumpkin...not eat the pumpkin!

Favorite season - Favorite men - Favorite family

Mommy and Ty share sweet thoughts.
There's nothing better than big squeals after nose-smushing kisses.

  1. Isn't it amazing how much healing our children bring to us? I know a lot of people say those who are infertile are "desperate" for a baby and we take offense to that, but in a way they are right. We KNOW that we are missing a piece of our hearts... who wouldn't be desperate to fill that hole, especially if they know what it needs to be fixed?

Thank you for your beautiful blog. We are starting our own adoption journey and I keep thinking about your relationship with Rebekah and hoping that we are blessed to build a similar relationship with a birthmom.

  13. Love love love ALL the pictures. But that face plant takes the cake for me as I am sure it left behind a little dobble of drool soaked on the sofa. =) Ty is so very precious and I love seeing his face develop into a little person. And you, sunshine beams from your eyes and your smile and it is magical.

He is just so sweet, and I love the updates! Baby Charlie is a little peanut too...I think they are just about the same size, based on what I remember from his four-month stats.

    Ohhhh, it's just SO great!!!!

    Hugs,

  28. Ok, can I just say your pictures are ALWAYS amazing? Ty is adorable and the pics of the two of you are just perfect. You should paper your walls with those!

Can I ask what kind of camera you use? My pictures never seem to come out that sharp and colorful... of course, it could be the operator and not the camera... :)

  31. This is a wonderful blog and including the birth mom is what makes it so nice. I just can't express how I feel about it. We have one adopted child and four birth children. We spent years wondering who our oldest daughters birth mom was. Finally we had a chance to meet her and the rest of her family but it took way too much time. Our daughter would have had an easier time growing up if she had known who her birth mom was from the beginning.

Second, your family is adorable and he looks just like ya'll.

Third, I can't wait to read more and see more pictures.

  36. All I can say when I see the new pictures is that that "our boy" is so cute and keeps getting cuter. He has a sweet personality and is so much fun to be around. Love that boy.

Another joy is that I get to see his daddy and mommy several times a week. My cup runneth over with love. Nana
