There is much to say.
In effort to do our time justice, I'm offering our trip in a la carte fashion. Before you read my thoughts, I'd like you to hear the heart cries of some pretty spectacular people in our story. If my world were a made-for-TV-movie, you would be hearing David Crowder's, Come and Listen piping in. Come and Listen...Come and Listen to what he has done...
Meet the amazing, Rebekah.
Her Mother.
Her Daughter.
Her Sister.
"If he never was, we would never be friends. And family."
I can't say it any better.

What AMAZING videos to share!!! One little life touches the heart of so many. Love this story and that little boy.
ReplyDeleteWow! What an amazing reunion!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing the videos. Wow. What a wonderful gift for Ty to have.
ReplyDeleteIn tears. Beautiful. What a great idea to document your trip in that way. Thank you so much for sharing. You are all so very blessed!
ReplyDeleteSweet
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's because I know you beyond the screen--but it doesn't surprise me a single bit that you and Ben love Rebekah and her family. Nor does it surprise me that they love you. Yes, the bond of Tyrus is strong--but the reason it works is that you and Ben decided long ago to live to love and live to give. If it weren't you, it might not have happened this way for Rebekah--but you have chosen to love, you have enormous hearts, and a huge capacity to include people into your family. This is indeed special--but it's because ALL of the components are special. Rebekah is precious. What I see represented in the flow of this story is selflessness. You and Ben running after what God has ordained for you, (parenthood) and Rebekah giving Tyrus life with the two of you. Both completely unselfish acts, and true agape love. It is beautiful, but I'm not surprised, and it doesn't seem weird one bit! It seems right.
ReplyDeleteWow, this is amazing. So often, I read blogs about adoption and read anger, sadness, resentment, etc. And, honestly, it terrifies me. I wonder if I am up to this adoption thing? The beauty gets lost!!! YOU BRING IT BACK!! You and the other Rebekah remind me that adoption can be beautiful, and IS beautiful, if we can just open our hearts. Ty is obviously gorgeous and lucky to have "two whole families":). Thank you for sharing and restoring my faith in this process. I needed this today!
ReplyDeleteWOW...What a great reunion you all had!!! We serve an awesome God!!!
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you all!!!
Amazing videos. Wow!
ReplyDeleteLove the last line...if he never was... truer words were never spoken. what a wonderful love story this is.
ReplyDeleteYou never let me down, love. This was beautiful. And what a great way to capture pictures of everyone's hearts at that very moment. Such a blessing that you all have with one another. It simply was meant to be.
ReplyDeleteAWESOME! I am bawlin like a big ol baby here, but that was simply beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks for making me cry guys! (wink) Im so happy you were able to get together.
ReplyDeleteI was reading what Teri-facedown wrote and...... wow! So well spoken, and true. I love how this whole story is working out.... I cant wait to buy your book!

ReplyDeleteI love that special bond I have with Grayden's birthmom, like you said its something that not many understand but certainly amazing for us!
These videos are amazing! What a wonderful story you all have to share!

Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOMG. I am crying. Both from the videos and the verse on the side from Isaiah. I used to hold tightly to that verse all the time, and it has slipped away somehow. Thank you for reminding me that He holds us up, He brings us together, He organizes our lives. I needed that today.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you had a good trip and that you were able to feel so natural and comfortable there. I'm sorry that others did not understand why you went, but I totally get it. And Ty will thank you for it down the road.
Thanks for sharing so publicly the joys that can arise from open adoption. I think it helps others to see that it doesn't have to be frighening. Our son's birthmom & birthdad are coming to visit us this summer. It'll be our 3rd (post birth) visit with them in his 4+ years. We can hardly wait. Please also thank the other Rebekah & her family for being willing to have their videos shown. It's a beautiful testimony of the fact that love knows no boundaries.
ReplyDeleteThese are amazing videos! I agree with Faith - you have helped bring the beauty and joy back to the miracle of adoption!
ReplyDeleteI notice Ben is very quiet...what was he thinking during these conversations?
Thanks for sharing such personal videos.
Brings me to tears. God is good!
ReplyDeleteI was in tears watching all these beautiful videos. What God is doing in your families is amazing! Thank you for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteThis was really cool to watch. Thanks for sharing!

I love Victoria saying "my mom chose you because she thought you were the best." Rebekah wanted the best for her son, and look at how blessed all of them are with the 3 of you in their lives. And I love that Ty is not lost to them. He is found, and wanted, and loved by SO many.
ReplyDeleteLove to hear Rebekah's voice. It brings her whole personality to life. Great interviews.
ReplyDeleteIt is so wonderful that Ty will have these videos of his birthfamily.........hear their words, directily from them!
