How in the world am I going to survive this wait? It has been exactly one week and I can't stop thinking about our baby. It's not that I don't have things to keep me busy (I have enough to keep 4 waiting moms busy) or that I'm not enjoying my time with Ben. I am. It's just that my heart can't rest. I wake up every morning thinking, "Maybe this will be the day," and daydream about what it will feel like to have a little person to call my own. There's no two ways about it, waiting is cruel. Haven't we waited enough?
I'm getting my wisdom teeth out on Friday morning. Maybe they can pump me with some extra sedative and wake me when it's baby time!

Hang in there. I can tell you that it's SO worth it. We had a long match with uncertainties along the way. I did just what you said- stayed busy- and I read a lot about adoption (forgot to read enough about parenting..do that NOW). Glad to hear you're enjoying your husband time. We went out to eat a lot and just talked and dreamed as a couple. We did every social thing we could. I'm glad we did but now we're a frazzled mess (but loving it). Good luck hun. I hope your wait is super short. You guys will be great parents!!
ReplyDeleteI big puffy pink heart you!!!! It will happen soon enough! And it will be soooooo worth the wait!!!
ReplyDeleteAs for what to do in the mean time? Three words - DATE YOUR MAN!!!!! And be on tho lookout now for ways to date him even after the baby comes! It is so important to stay strong as a couple.
Praying for ya!
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOX

Just keep thinking it's all in God's hands...I am not a patient person, but He does help... A LOT!
ReplyDeleteGood Luck with the wisdom teeth...I had mine out last August...Take the sedation if you can, it was wonderful!
ReplyDeleteAs for the wait...I know it is different, because i had a so called "deadline" when i knew baby was coming, but really just enjoy this time. Although things are wonderful with a baby, it really will just never be you and Ben again (ok, not for a really long time). Enjoy the chance to do things at a drop of a dime...Things take a lot more effort these days.
The waiting will be over before you know it (i know, its easier to say those words than actually live the wait!)
Many Many Blessings,
Jen
I am not going to say anything about the wait, because i have never experienced your exact wait...so I think it is better just to say, I'm waiting with you. How ever I can support you and Ben during this time, please know I am here! Like I said in my last comment, your heart is very pregnant. Excitement and anxiety for the day rests in every pregnant heart, you are not alone.
ReplyDeleteLove you girl.
I should add you to the Friday event list - seriously a big day! I hope your wisdom teeth aren't terrible. Hubby swelled up like a chipmunk, but me, not so much.
ReplyDeleteI like the comment to date Ben. That's a good one.
I'll be praying for a quick baby delivery!!!
Let me know if you need any soup or TLC after those wisdom teeth come out! Make sure you are faithful with the ice compresses afterwards (or Ben is :)! I'm sure you have someone to drive you to and from tomorrow, but I feel compelled to offer my services there too...
ReplyDeletePraying for you in every way...
good luck with your wisdom teeth i had them out about a year and a half ago...that will keep you busy for about a week :)
ReplyDeletei am SO EXCITED for when you get the call!
The wait is really hard but the right baby for you and Ben will come in God's time. We waited 11 months for our match and although the wait was rough and it felt like an eternity, now that we have our baby home, it was just a blink. Hang in there. You will be parents soon.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, your nursery is GORGEOUS! I love it and can't believe how talented you are and how inexpensive you were able to make the quilt.
Rebekah you must have read my journal again, lol! This morning the phone rang at 5:00 a.m. and my heart was literally hammering in my chest. Then I remembered that 5:00 a.m. is when the phone rings for subbing jobs, and that I'm a sub. Back to reality!
ReplyDeleteI'm a lot like you, busy beyond belief, but still all I really manage to think about is our future baby. I take comfort from the idea that I'm waiting for OUR BABY--and he or she just isn't ready yet. For that little future miracle I can do anything, including live through the most excruciating waiting time of my entire life...
I don't have an answer for you - but I do take solace in the fact that we are proceeding through this journey together. It really does help to know there are other people out there who understand and who have been there.
Hang in there, and GOOD LUCK with the wisdom teeth tomorrow...you will be in my thoughts!
Melba
You will do fine tomorrow. If you need anything let me know...we can drown our sorrows together. Praying for you
ReplyDeleteMy absolute best dental experience was getting my wisdom teeth out. Did the IV sedation, they surgically closed the holes, took some nice meds for a few days, woke up and got on with life. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteYou'll look back and on this wait and "get it".
waiting is the hardest...wondering if each time the phone rings if it is the CALL. Waking up each morning wondering if this will be the day the CALL comes.
ReplyDeletehugs to ya!
I remember "the waiting," too, but one day really WILL be "that day!" Ohhhh...how I remember that day! :) I was so glad I was having a good hair day! hehe...
