We received our profile proof in the mail yesterday! Which was perfect, because calling the agency, this weekend, was on my to-do list. I was informed the proof would take 2 weeks to arrive and once we approved it, another 2 weeks to print. Today, was going to be the 18th day mark (not that I've been counting) and was thrilled to find it amidst the bills last night! I only found one quotation mark error which my critical grammatical eye could not let go.
I am stunned at how quick this process has been. I started cutting the photos that will later be glued on to all 50 profiles! It's surreal to think that the very profile I've spent hours of time on will be the same one that connects us with baby. The end product looks great; I'm really happy with it!
We only have a couple more responsibilities until the official wait begins! Our final home study visit is on Sunday, July 27th, at 2:30pm (at our house). We'll have to glue all the pics on the profiles, send the finished profiles to the agency, and wait for the final certification/approval. I'm hoping all will come together by August 19th (my birthday). I want to feel officially paper-pregnant on my favorite day of the whole year! :0)

It is so exciting. I am good with cutting and gluing if you need help with the picts. What a great birthday present it will be to be on the list and waiting (hopefully not too long).
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to smother that baby with kisses. Melia will get lots of practice helping with baby Pinchback, before her next sibling comes...which will be a little while yet :)
Yay!!!! Some things with the adoption process seem to go so smooth and quick. I have tried to just let it happen when it is suppose to and not try to get caught up on making it happen when I want or think it should.
ReplyDeleteWe were still editing ours at Kinko's the other day! And one thing we couldn't fix which will probably always bug us, is that we have a pic of us in front of the STL Arch and the arch is crooked, it looks like we photoshopped it! Oh well, the pic stayed. Small details like that or a quotation mark is minor...the focal point will be you and your husband and the love you share and have to offer a child.
Best wishes on the next homestudy visit! And hope Aug 19th will be a day that you can announce that your are paper pregnant!
OK- First of all, YAY!!! I am so excited for you!!!!! PS - I love the term Paper Pregnant!!!! So cool!
ReplyDeleteSecond of all - we finally have our official adoption date. August 8th our sweet Sophie will be official!!!! Can you even stand it?!?!?!
And thirdly - I just read the story of Meeghan's delivery. You were like five minutes away from my house. She totally could've delivered in my guest room. SO much more comfy than an ambulance stretcher!
How fantastic that you are another step closer to your baby!!! :-) I am excited for you.
ReplyDeleteI'm already looking forward to one of the most revered days in August :). The birthday fairy has already busily been at work! I'm looking forward to seeing your profile. Let me know if you need any help preparing for your home visit.
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through my friend Jessica. I just wanted to congratulate you!! I have three adopted children (after seven years of infert) and they are MORE my children than any I could have given birth too. Can't wait to see the finished pics of your nursery and further more your new baby when he/she arrives!!! Congrats again!!! -kriss (www.onelovelybb.blogspot.com)
ReplyDeleteThis is super exciting! Every step you take is one step closer to your baby...I am wishing you success with all your preparation! Can't wait to hear the news of your paper pregnancy!!
ReplyDeleteMelba
This is great news. I can't believe how quickly you two are moving through this process. It's only a matter of time before you go from paper-pregnant to real parents. Can't wait.
ReplyDeleteLOL...when did you see the new site? I keep changing it around because I can't get it quite right :). Hopefully you just saw it in its final moments...not when it was looking crazy! Hope you had fun at IKEA today...thought about you guys! Let me know what treasures you unearthed :)
ReplyDeleteI am amazed and thrilled at how smoothly this has been going for you (emotional roller coaster aside)! It is so exciting to know that soon you will be "paper pregnant" (*grin* I love that term!).
ReplyDeleteYou have shared so openly here, and I've really had an emotional day reading everything you've experienced. The few times the subject came up when I was up there, I wasn't aware of how long you have been waiting for a child. I'm glad you have a supportive partner to see you through to realizing your dream of being a mother.
I've linked to your blog (I hope you don't mind), and I can't wait to hear happy updates as the process continues to move forward. Stay positive.
